This workshop aims to provide guidance for instructors and students on communicating effectively in a range of contexts. At the same time, we provide an opportunity for participants to challenge some dominant beliefs that "good" communication adheres to specific rules or conventions. The strategies outlined in this workshop can be applied broadly across genres and disciplines without prescribing that grammar errors or other technical mistakes make a student or their work “wrong” or "bad." Through this workshop, we hope to engage students in conversation and learning about how they can improve their communication skills without losing their voice or identity.
