Luraine Tansey discusses her development of a slide curators association in California in 1967. In the context of her life experiences and various research projects she worked on. She details her experiences as a photographer, a PhD student at the Institute of Fine Arts at New York University, an assistant curator of American Art at the Brooklyn Museum. All these experiences helped her provide leadership and expertise for slide librarianship, advocating for the profession through increased wages, better working conditions, and professionalizing the work done.
