This oral history was conducted by Tom Jacoby and Eileen Markson in 2005 and explores the life and career of William Dane. Dane recounts his early interest and work in art librarianship and how he got his education through various means. The interview goes into detail on Dane's service in the Army during World War 2 and his time in boot camp and in Germany. Dane talks about his contributions to ARLIS/NA and his influence upon the founding of the Society. Finally, Dane talks about his position as Supervisor of the Special Collections Division at the Newark Public Library, as well as his long history working in that institution. This includes a discussion on the different exhibits that he helped organize.
