This month for Birds and Coffee, we have invited Seth Chapman. Seth has loved birds since childhood, starting his life list at the age of 10. He shares his passion through volunteering at a local nature center, monitoring nestboxes, and and leading weekendbirding walks in Kalamazoo..
Program Description
Grab your morning coffee or tea and join us for a journey into the birdlife of Kalamazoo! This program will showcase five unique birding experiences you won’t want to miss in Southwest Michigan. From the dazzling sky dance of the American Woodcock to the bustling activity of a Great Blue Heron rookery, we’ll explore the species, behaviors, and habitats that make Kalamazoo County a birdwatcher’s delight.
Each session will highlight:
The bird species involved
The special behavior or experience to watch for
Where and when you’re most likely to see them
Fun facts and insights to enrich your birding adventures
Whether you’re a backyard birder or an avid naturalist, you’ll come away with new ideas and inspiration for your next Kalamazoo birding outing.
There is no fee for this online program but to receive a secure link to the zoom meeting. Your hosts are educators: Lisa Duke and Misty Klotz from Kellogg Biological Station and Kellogg Bird Sanctuary. Zoom in and participate by sharing your recent bird sightings and asking questions!
