Creating and designing with accessibility in mind at the outset has many benefits for the end user and for you as the content creator. Be an accessibility advocate in youreducational context using tools that are free and built on the framework of collaboration in the cloud. Whether you are anaccessibility expert or a novice, this session is geared to empower you to use Google Apps with universal design for learning (UDL) driving your content creation strategy.
Participants will learn why UDL is so important for everybody in the long run. Practical strategies for creating accessiblecontent using Google Documents, Google Presentations & YouTube will be shared. Discussion on practical applications for educational learning object development is intended to be nuanced and rich based on the experiences and contexts of attendees. Come prepared to learn and share.
This session will be of particular interest to all who are trying to make their courses more accessible. It is also of interest to anyone who would like to learn more about universal design for learning (UDL). The concepts presented at this session are applicable for all course delivery methods (face-to-face, flipped, or on-line) and for all course types, be they undergraduate, graduate, continuing education or professional development courses, regardless of your domain.
