Dr. Barbara Roberts is Executive Director of the WorkLife Office and Senior Advisor to the Provost at MSU, where she also holds an adjunct faculty appointment in the College of Education. Dr. Roberts brings to the WorkLife Office her expertise in how individuals participate successfully in university work environments, facilitating a climate where all individuals are respected and supported in their work and personal lives.
Prior to joining MSU, Dr. Roberts was the Human Rights Officer at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, advising the President on issues of human rights and positive environments in post-secondary education, implementing institutional anti-bullying policies.
She has a B.A.Hons. (Queen’s University at Kingston), and a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (Boston University). Her PhD in Education (Queen's University) used the Canadian legal test questions of discrimination to identify bona fide academic requirements (BFARs) in clinical education.
Ingmar PackIngmar was born and raised in the Netherlands, where he earned a B.A. and M.A. in American Studies from the University of Groningen and the University of Nijmegen, respectively. At Central Michigan University, he earned Master’s degrees in Higher Education Administration and Transnational & Comparative History.
In his role of Program Coordinator (Academic Specialist) in the Visiting International Professional Program, Ingmar focuses on short-term program development & facilitation for international delegations from all sectors that seek impactful professional development at MSU.
He is particularly passionate about facilitating intercultural learning, and previously worked at various other Midwestern institutions on themes of internationalization strategic planning, curricular design, education abroad, and international enrollment management. In his spare time he enjoys hiking and playing soccer.
Matea Čaluk, M.Ed.Matea Čaluk is the Assistant Director for the Title IX Prevention, Outreach and Education Department. Matea came to the United States in the late 90s as a refugee of the Bosnian war. With her family placed in the Lansing area, Matea attended the Lansing School District prior to beginning her studies at Grand Valley State University where she earned her B.A. in Public Relations and Advertising and a M.Ed. in College Student Affairs Leadership. Over the past decade, Matea has worked at three higher education insitutions in Michigan, primarily concentrating on residential student housing.
As a first generation college student herself, Matea’s passions lie is assisting students with navigating the United States higher education landscape. Matea belives that learning also happens outside of the classroom and strives to create inclusive communities where students and staff can be their authentic selves to part take in dialogue and learning, free of harm and bias. Matea has dedicated her career in lending a voice to cultivate equitable practices and create opportunity for access. Matea enjoys traveling and learning about various cultures; and spending time with her family.
Dr. Stefanie BaierDr. Stefanie Baier is the Curriculum Development Director at the Graduate School at Michigan State University. In her role she is in charge of Teaching Assistant (TA) training and supports the professional and career development of graduate students and postdoctoral scholars.
Her research interests include student success and retention and the impact of diversity, academic, and psychosocial factors on college outcomes. In her evaluation work she has focused on assessment of professional training and support programs (learning communities, student success and mentoring initiatives), and international student success. Stefanie has teaching experience at the K-9, undergraduate, and graduate level.
Stefanie Baier holds an M.A. in Educational Psychology from Eastern Michigan University and a Ph. D. in Educational Psychology from Wayne State University. She also earned a B.A. in Elementary Education and Religious Studies from the Pädagogische Akademie Graz-Eggenberg, Austria.
