MSU has been making investments in its virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI). VDI allow faculty and students to have virtual labs/desktops without the need to actually purchse and run (high resource demanding) software on their local computers. The software runs on servers and the user can have the same computer user interface and experience on multiple computers across campus (and off-campus). VDI allows for anytime, anywhere access for the user, it does not require the user to be in MSU computer lab. It can provide a reduction in software licensing cost, and it is a means of providing research (and teaching) data security.
This session will be interest to all who want to learn more about MUS's VDI implementation and how to gain access to VDI for their classes and research. It will also be of interest to faculty who want to learn more about VDI and its potential benefits.
