Preview Your D2L Course: View as Student vs. Impersonate Demo Student

Preview your D2L course to ensure it is set up correctly using View as Student or by impersonating the Demo Student. These two preview options work in different ways and have a few limitations if you are using certain release conditions in your course. View as Student also does not work well if you are using the New Content Experience. Lastly, previewing quizzes and the grades screen can be done without viewing as a student or impersonating the demo student.

Note that content completion (i.e. viewing items) and release conditions cannot be reset or undone, so you may still require extra help when testing things out. You can enroll a colleague as a Member in your course from the Classlist so that they can go through your course with the same permissions as a student, or feel free to request a virtual consultation with the Instructional Technology & Development team by submitting this form to the service desk and we can ensure that your course is ready for students.
