Rowan Shih is a rising senior at the University of Chicago.
Originally from New York City, they joined the UChicago Guild of
Carillonists during their first year of college. From there, they
started studying carillon with Alex Johnson and earned carillonneur
status from the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America in 2024.
Outside of carillon, they study comparative literature, focusing on
Ancient Greek and Chinese literature, and creative writing. Some of
their hobbies besides playing carillon include cooking, getting lost
in thought, and taking photos of clouds.
