Semester Start Tips for D2L Courses

Prepare your courses for a new semester! In this video, we recommend some actions to take to get your courses ready for students. Make your course active so that students can see it listed on their My Courses page before the start date. Students will only have access to the course on the start date if it is active. If the course is still not active after the start date, students will not have access.
Create a development course to test out D2L features and build new courses or make major changes to old courses. Copy and merge courses, update the syllabus and offset dates, enroll TAs, and add accommodations for students with disabilities. Lastly, preview your course by impersonating the demo student to ensure that it is ready for students to access. (Also check out our quick tip video on View as Student vs. Impersonate Demo Student.)

Note: If you choose to copy only select components rather than entire courses, make sure to include all associated files to avoid any broken links in the new course. If you are copying quizzes that include question pools, you must include the entire Question Library or the questions in the pools will be "orphaned" in your new course.
