Not one, but eight MSU Artist-faculty soloists will be featured in this concert! Richard Sherman, flute; Nermis Mieses, oboe; Guy Yehuda, clarinet; Michael Kroth, bassoon; Corbin Wagner, horn; Justin Emerich, trumpet; Kenneth Thompkins, trombone; and Gwendolyn Dease, percussion, will highlight Frank Martin’s dazzling Concerto for Seven Wind Instruments, Timpani, Percussion and String Orchestra. The program also includes a beautifully colorful and exciting picture of the sea in Claude Debussy’s La Mer, and works by the captivating composer Viet Cuong. An additional work will include a Fanfare selection composed by an MSU College of Music student.
Octavio Más-Arocas, conductor.
