In this interactive and collaborative session, we explore what makes Professional Development (PD) problematic and then use scholarship in adult learning theory to begin to create good PD. We will explore andragogy (Knowles), Experiential Learning (Kolb & Fry), Transformative Learning (Mezirow) and elements of neuroscience. We then guide participants through the Design Thinking process (Stanford D. School) to create PD for their contexts. We consider and discuss technologies that can be a part of these experiences.
